Prodiance Launches New eDiscovery Solution
Federated Search Speeds Legal Discovery Process

The Prodiance eDiscovery solution incorporates a unique federated search engine to help legal teams quickly and efficiently locate key electronic evidence across a wide variety of disparate content sources, combined with Prodiance content management. With this new solution, organizations can take a proactive approach to eDiscovery by responding faster to legal discovery requests, while boosting productivity, and improving compliance with corporate record keeping and emerging federal mandates.
In a recent study performed by industry analyst firm IDC, “as much as 60% of corporate data resides unprotected on PC desktops and laptops.” Although these electronic documents often represent key corporate records, evidence, or even “smoking guns”, they have not historically fallen into the scope of evidence to support civil cases. However, under new proposed amendments to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure being considered by the US Supreme Court, the existing discovery rules will be revamped to better accommodate information generated by computers. The Prodiance eDiscovery solution addresses this shift in the focus of electronic evidence by incorporating a powerful desktop search engine for finding documents, emails and attachments on employee PCs, combined with a unique federated search broker for finding documents across a wide variety of disparate content sources, including corporate shared drives, internal and external web sites, legacy systems, document and records management systems, and other enterprise applications.
The Prodiance eDiscovery solution incorporates the following modules:
- Prodiance Search, which allows legal departments and litigators to instantly search through gigabytes of information across a wide variety of disparate content sources, including emails and attachments, internal and external web sites, corporate shared drives, 3rd party document and records management systems, and employee PCs. Key evidence can then be copied, burned to CD/DVD, moved to a secure repository (provided by Prodiance Enterprise Content Manager), or moved to another controlled environment.
- Prodiance Enterprise Content Manager (ECM), which provides a secure, web-based repository for legal teams to capture, index, organize, archive, and preserve all legal evidence and case matter after it is retrieved through Prodiance Search. Records retention policies automate the preservation of evidence, and automated workflows can enforce and provide greater visibility and compliance for document inspection, review and approval processes.
